For my birthday in June Nick got me some lovely hanks of yarn from Touch Yarns in Clyde. Three are the same weight and in lovely colours of grey, wine red and blue and the fourth is of a finer weight and a greyish oatmeal colour. They are all 60% merino wool, 30% possum fur and 10% silk and the softness is amazing.
With the grey and red I have made two scarves with this fancy, almost houndstooth pattern. I wove it quite loosely and was a bit concerned about how easily the yarn slid against itself disrupting the pattern but the wet finishing has locked everything into place and I am very happy with the result. As the yarn suggested they are deliciously soft as well as light and warm. One is slightly longer than the other.
